COMPOSITIONEvery 1 gram Garamycin containing gentamicin sulfate equivalent to 1 mg (0.1%) Gentamicin. 

PHARMACOLOGY (HOW DRUGS)Creams and ointments containing the antibiotic gentamicin Garamycin which is an aminoglycoside class of antibiotics, which have a bactericidal effect, especially against aerobic gram-negative bacilli sensitive and sensitive gram-positive bacteria. 

INDICATIONSGaramycin indications are:For the topical treatment of primary and secondary infections of the skin caused by bacteria susceptible to gentamicin.Antibiotics are not used for prevention / prophylaxis because the bacteria that cause is unknown. 

CONTRAINDICATIONGaramycin cream / ointment should not be given to:Patients who are hypersensitive or allergic to the drug composition.Infections caused by fungi or viruses. 

DOSAGE AND RULES FOR USEAsk your doctor about the dosage and the rules of use Garamisin.Cream / ointment Garamisin applied thinly on the sore area as much as 3-4 times a day until healing is achieved. The sore area may be covered with bandages (gauze dressings).If there is crusting should be cleaned prior to drug administration. 

SIDE EFFECTSThe use of topical antibiotic gentamicin can cause temporary irritation, usually characterized by skin redness and itching.The possibility of a photosensitizing been reported in some patients.The use of a topical antibiotic gentamicin in the long term can lead to fungi or bacteria that are resistant to grow excessively. 

WARNING AND CAUTIONDiscontinue treatment if there is irritation or sensitization.Excessive growth of microorganisms that can happen, in case of superinfection, the treatment was stopped and given appropriate therapy.Systemic absorption can occur when the oiled area is quite extensive, so the side effects are not expected to occur due to systemic absorption. In such conditions, careful use in infants and children.Should not be used for eye treatment.
